Our Work

From UN Security Council briefings to EU policy workshops, the Steering Committee translates the commitments of Resolution 1325 into concrete action on the ground and in the rooms where decisions are made.

The Steering Committee operates at the intersection of civil society, policy, and diplomacy. We are not observers of peace processes. We are builders of the infrastructure that makes women’s genuine inclusion in those processes possible.

Key Initiatives

May 2021

Joint Call for 1325-Based Negotiations

Following a wave of violence, the Committee launched a binational appeal for negotiations grounded in Resolution 1325, reaching leaders locally and globally, and ultimately discussed before the UN Security Council.

Policy Advocacy

Gender Opinion on Sheikh Jarrah Evictions

A gender-based legal opinion submitted to Israel’s Attorney General, urging that decision-making on forced evictions reflect the obligations of Resolution 1325.

Capacity Building

Training in Gendered Political Negotiation

50 Israeli women from diverse communities and fields trained alongside 50 Palestinian women from the West Bank and Gaza, building a generation of women equipped and ready to lead political negotiations.

Policy Framework

Joint Recommendations for a Future Agreement

Binational working groups produced shared advocacy, policy, and programming recommendations, including a dedicated chapter on gender equality in any future political agreement.

Dozens of program graduates have gone on to participate in Track 1.5 and Track 2 initiatives and policy processes since 2024. The Committee regularly provides briefings and advisory consultations to decision-makers in Israel, Palestine, and the international community, and has transferred expert recommendations and professional rosters to those leading formal and informal negotiation efforts.
