Miriam Heib

Director of the Resource Exhaustion and Economic Development Unit at the Eilabun Local Council.

From Eilabun

Ms. Heib has earned a master’s degree in early childhood education from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, a master’s degree in management and public policy from the University of Haifa, and a bachelor’s degree in special education and sociology from Tel Hai College.

In her previous positions, she served as Director of the Arab Society Department at the National Council for the Child and managed a boarding school for at-risk youth. She also led a delegation to Germany on behalf of the Youth Exchange Authority and initiated a unique program to support at-risk youth in her community, while training professionals in the field. Additionally, she has given lectures on early childhood and spearheaded the first parents’ campaign against violence in the village.

After completing my training, I consider myself an ambassador and influencer when it comes to decision-making on both the local and political levels. As an Arab Muslim woman living in the State of Israel, I believe that a great responsibility lies not only with the sovereign but also with the minority population. As women and as Arabs, we must utilize every possible means to advocate for ourselves and pave the way to reach our goals.
