Israela Baruch

Founder of Tsahey, a political education framework for Ethiopian-born Israeli women.
Ms. Baruch serves as a coordinator for Israeli Hope in the Academy at the Rothchild Partnerships organization.
She is a lecturer, educational speaker, and facilitator in various educational frameworks. She is involved with organizations such as Israeli Mechina, a pre-conscription educational framework for young members of the Ethiopian community; Olim Beyahad, an NGO that mentors academics from the Ethiopian community in occupational processes; Tabaka, providing legal assistance for the Ethiopian community; and Kaleidoscope, working for Jewish-Arab integration.
Ms. Baruch lectures for the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), delivering lectures to American entities and delegations about the Ethiopian community in Israel, its challenges, and the experiences of the second generation of immigrants.

Previously, Ms. Baruch hosted a radio show on AudioVersity, dealing with current events, society, education, welfare, and equality. She also managed a scholarship program the National Task Force by the Ministry of Social Equality’s and the National Union of Israeli Stuendens. She also worked as a producer and investigator for Channel 12 and the Israeli-Ethiopian Channel.

Ms. Baruch holds a master’s degree in public policy from Tel Aviv University and a bachelor’s degree in education and sociology from Haifa University. She has also completed the Accelerator program for social entrepreneurship by the World Zionist Organization and a management course by Ernst and Young and Olim Beyahad. She volunteers at the Olim Beyahad NGO to change societal attitudes towards the Ethiopian community in Israel.

My training has given me the opportunity to deeply connect with important subjects and inspiring women whom I might not have met in my daily life. It has instilled in me the belief that all these women share a common goal of peaceful coexistence. As women, we can dream and make our dreams come true.
