Chen Ariely

Deputy Mayor of Tel Aviv-Yafo, in charge of welfare and social services.
Ms. Ariely leads the Housing First initiative to promote permanent housing solutions for unhoused people.
Since 2019, Ms. Ariely has been a member of Shutafot, an active communication network for Jewish and Arab political leaders that focuses on civil equality. She serves as the Chairperson of the Ani Isha NGO, which works to establish relationships and collaborations between organizations in Israel’s feminist sphere.
Ms. Ariely is the founder and director of the Shita Institute for Promoting Local Research and Policy.

During the COVID-19 outbreak, Ms. Ariely served as the chairperson of the Welfare staff of the National Specialists Forum for handling the pandemic. She worked on a project to distribute maps of Israel showing the Green Line, which separates Israel from the West Bank and Gaza, in city schools. She also served as the Chairperson of the Aguda – Israel’s LGBT Task Force for seven years, launched Program 51 – School of Politics for the advancement of women in Israeli politics on behalf of Ani Isha NGO, and was selected as one of the most influential Israeli women in the civil domain and one of the most prominent Israeli social activists for 2017-2018 by Yedioth Ahronot and Globes newspapers.

My training has helped me shape my unique voice and foster an understanding that the feminism I believe in aspires to achieve liberty for all women and an end to the conflict by ensuring women have a seat at the negotiation tables.
